SAS Scandanavian Airlines has chosen Airbus Protect as trusted Part-IS consultancy partner to support aviation risk management
For SAS, the largest airline in Scandinavia, safety and security are top priorities, especially now, with digitised operations and an increasingly connected fleet. The airline’s cybersecurity strategy already follows leading international standards such as NIST. They now aim to quickly become fully compliant with Part-IS regulation requirements, ensuring they continue to operate with the highest level of cybersecurity.
Part-IS is a new European regulation that will enter into force in February 2026 for airlines, MROs and Aircraft Operators. The regulation, based on a number of preexisting guidelines and standards, aims to ensure the aviation sector achieves a fundamental level of cybersecurity.
SAS relies on Airbus Protect as a trusted third party expert to complete a gap assessment ensuring that the upgrade from current standards to Part-IS is on track as planned. Airbus Protect is a subsidiary of Airbus primarily set up to deliver aviation risk management consultancy services related to safety, cybersecurity and sustainability.
